Hi Sqad.

I had positive pregnancy test Monday just gone - much surprise as we weren't even trying. Today I had a tiny PV bleed after experiencing uncomfortable twinges in various places. Pregnancy test done by 12 year old nurse - negative. Informed by 13 year old Doctor that my original positive test was a false alarm.

I've just come home and done another digital test - "Pregnant 1-2"

So... 2 positives tests 4/5 days apart. No sign of period. PV bleed miniscule and now stopped.

Your thoughts?

God the blood.... like something out of a horror film. My pad was literally soaked within minutes. No clots though which is bizarre.
Maybe you weren't pregnant x

I was definitely pregnant. My periods are light and always have been.

This is the equivalent of about 4 periods so far. I'm also getting the majority of pain shooting from my left groin to my left hip so I'm going to need to rule out another ectopic.

I've got the most revolting metallic taste in my mouth, my boobs are killing me and my lower back is killing me :(
Are you sure that you don't need a quick A&E check-over, NoM, especially with the amount of blood lost? Sorry to hear this...it's no help but we had five inc one ectopic, think I mentioned that before - however two more did 'successfully stick' so there is hope.

I attended A&E on Friday. They won't entertain scanning me until 6 weeks, which is a week tomorrow.
I mean for the blood loss if it continues to be really heavy....
A doctors visit might be a good idea, NoM :-(
NoM....my doctors don't send you for a scan until 8 weeks but they will if it's a miscarriage.
NoM ...sorry to hear your sad news, but you must get the possibility of another ectopic ruled out ASAP ...

What concerns me is that I had 2 positive results 5 days apart but both tests said "Pregnant 1-2". Surely the latter should have been more advanced.

I'm sceptical about the presence of an ectopic due to the colour of the blood, the volume of blood and the early presentation.

Perhaps Sqad could lend his thoughts?
So sorry, NoMercy.

With the blood loss, pain and your history of an ectopic, you surely must see a doctor, now

Perhaps your maternity dept would be more helpful than A&E.
I don't know what "Pregnant 1-2" means?
I thought it meant 1-2 weeks pregnant. Tests 5 days apart wouldn't necessarily give a different result.

I spoke to the Early Pregnancy Unit the other day, CJ. They don't want to know before 6 weeks.

Short of collapsing with loss on consciousness or being in excruciating pain, I can burger orf!
I remember the blood loss with mine being pretty colossal ....3 pints of blood after surgery ....and this was only a day or so after it all went tits up ....
I think I have it. The test is testing for HGC so it's just an estimate. I don't know how accurate these test are for predicting how far along you are.
NoM are you still loosing at the same rate you spoke of earlier ....if you are then it sounds like you are haemorrhaging .....don't mess about with it please
Question Author
I didn't have that much blood loss with the ectopic, PV, but there was a fair amount sloshing around inside me when the surgeon went in.

I keep getting a pulley twinge down my inner left thigh... but that could be one of my fibroid.
If you thought that you were pregnant....as i did, because of missing a period and last 2 positive tests and this period is heavy dark and watery with lower abdominal pain and backache, as you have intimated, then an ectopic pregnancy should be seriously considered.
My advice would be to go to A&E and almost certainly you would just be monitored, at least you would be observed by professionals
No hurry, no panic, take your time and go to A&E
NoM...you need to get checked.

When I had my last miscarriage I had the brown discharge for a couple of days then a gush of blood and then nothing. They sent me for a scan and the baby was still there...
