Hairstyles For The Older Woman

I would like to go shorter, my hair is straight and to my shoulders, I would like to go shortish, but need something easy to style, I have biggish features, so a pixie style wouldn't suit, any ideas please.

What about a shortish bob? Bobs seem to suit most people.

Try a crop, to the chin, maybe shorter at back, a la Vidal Sassoon ...

Depends what your hair is like and how much you like styling, i.e blow drying it. I have very short pixie ( me, a pixie ??) and all I have to do, as I wash my hair every night in the shower, is rinse it with hot water in the morning to get rid of bedhead, comb , and when dry fluff up with gel. But you have to get a good cut.

In our area, the "Mrs Slocombe"( Are you being served ) purple/blue rinse cut look seems to be 'well in fashion' around the Shoreham, Worthing, Goring By Sea, Angering, Ferring and Rustington districts.....

There's an army of them on pension day!!......

I would keep the length to your shoulders, but have a 'growing out fringe' to about cheekbone length.

I had mine cut into a chin length bob, stays in place all day and looks good.

Firs, tly I don't think you should aim for hairstyles for the older woman, aim for a change.I agree with smurfchops, the shorter at the back longer at the front that I see woman of all ages sporting at the moment looks edgy and smart at the same time.

Will google, Tilly. I have lots of very fine, straight hair. I stopped colouring it last December (2015) and it has gone a rather nice blonde-ish, silvery grey. I've grown it to whole, chin-length bob and am agonising about it looking lank even when sparkling clean. Difficult, isn't it.

I'm knocking on a bit and have what's called an inverted bob .Cut short into the back of the neck and longer at the sides, chin length with a choppy fringe .It's so easy to manage and makes fine hair look fuller .
