When my husband was deployed on tour in Afghanistan he told me was going to be coming home on leave on Friday the something-or-other. I was sitting in my office the day before and at 5.15 I'm engrossed in my work and tapping my keyboard when he walks in the office straight off the plane in full army gear still wearing his body armour, carrying his helmet and a bunch of flowers. He'd come straight from Brize Norton to surprise me, All the women in the office swooned. Very Officer and a Gentleman.

He'd planned it for a while too. He'd got me to send out his driving license weeks before he came home (under the pretence of doing some sort of course out there) just in case he couldn't get a train and had to hire a car. And he got my sister to call and check I'd be in the office.

He's not done anything that romantic since though!

I do have the...Fifty Shades of Gravy... cookbook so I could invite Tonyav for a meal I suppose.........!

Bit late, but I wrote and illustrated a poem for Mr. J2, rolled it and tied it with ribbon. He was quite touched.
