Best Way To Give A Cat Zylkene
4 Answers
Hi,
Yesterday started my cat on Zylkene, as recommended by the vet, as we're moving next week.
It says mix with food but I give her main meal, about 2/3rds of a pouch, with water (with a crushed vitamin tablet). Before I go to bed I give her the rest of the pouch, without water.
Would it be better / more effective to mix the Zylkene with her main meal (with water) or before bed (no water), or doesn't matter ?
Thanks :)

According to the manufacturer, it makes no difference as to whether you mix the product with regular food, mix it with liquids or give it as a treat:

Just go with whatever works best for you and your feline friend.

Thanks Buenchico, I thought that might be the case.
The vet didn't prescribe the vitamins, no. She's a stray I took in about 7yrs ago so I didn't know how healthy she was (apart from being very, very thin !) so seemed a good idea. Guess it became habit & now she's nearly 11yrs, I wasn't planning to stop giving them. She does have good quality food (generally 50% + meat content), with the odd 4% stuff just for variety. She's never had to go to the vet, other than to have couple of teeth out once, so she's doing ok :) Maybe I'll just give the vitamin occasionally with the Zylkene ...

Have the spray & the plug-in, latter is already plugged in at the new place & next door where a very good friend lives & where we'll both be the night before moving day & she'll be spending moving day, & have been giving her a Beaphar cat calming treat every day for weeks. Think that's as much as I can do :)
