My OH has just had a routine blood test and his results have come back as 41, and apparently the usual range is between 17 - 40. Can anyone tell me what measurements are being used here as a diabetic my sugars are measured mammal.l (i.e between 5 - 10) Please can someone tell me if this test is for blood sugars or something else?

Possibly . . . LFT = Liver Function Test?
If it is a blood glucose test 41 is 6.8
mammal?....mmol, abbreviated form of millimole.
I would suggest a quick call to the surgery who will happily tell him.

I've just looked up my own blood test results and I think it may be
HBA1c, so it appears to be in normal ranges. Thank you all very much go your answers.
Islamum....you are "right on the money." It is HB1AC.
Mmm I had my blood tested once.
Turns out it was red. Mind you, they said it was the first time they'd drawn a pint with a head on it.
If my memory serves me correctly, the normal reference range for HbA1c is 22 - 40 mmol/mol so his is only mildly elevated.

Sqsd will correct me if I'm wrong.
