Thanks for that Murraymints. Just had a quick look & it says to splint area. This has made mine worse due to having recently had surgery on my finger for Dupuytrens Contracture.I have to wear a splint frequently throughout the day because its too painful to wear all night. My finger flares up with bright red knuckles!
Soaking in warm water does help for a short while but regards painn killers I can't take ibuprofen due to past stomach ulcers.
Copper bracelets from Boots work with my arthritis. I don't know whether it will help with your pain but they are cheap enough to give it a go.
My advice is to forget "good natural help" and go to see your GP and have the "presumed " diagnosis confirmed. There are other conditions that could account for your symptoms.
You could try flexiseq, it seems to work for quite a few people, I have been using it on my knees and while it doesn't sort it completely it helps a bit. Ginger and curcumin are also natural anti inflammatory. If you are suffering badly the go can prescribe capsaicin cream. But beware. It is chilli based. The arthritis research council put it at the top of their list
dad had that Capsaicin for his feet to help peripheral neuropathy , it helped a bit !
GP can offer other options like referrals to physio etc. I would also suggest acupuncture if you don,t have a needle phobia.
try DYNAMINT cream
Amazon or Holland and Barrett

Thanks to you all.
My doctor diagnosed osteoarthritis after taking bloods, he is aware of my problem regards anti-inflammitories. I also am unable to absorb iron which can be related I believe.
I will try the copper bracelet, the cream from Boots, H & B also capsaicin.
Heat pads are ok for inside my mittens in the winter.
I take ginger within my diet. Not one for taking medicines if I can avoid them. Thanks again.
Try an anti inflammatory diet.

I for one find that eliminating wheat from my diet has been helpful.
homestead..perhaps an iron infusion if your bloods show an acute deficiency, dad had a few of these via a drip as day out patient, they did help a lot..eat blackpudding and brassics !!
