looking at some of the responses last night and in the past it appears that gay bashing is still alive and well.
There were even accusations of a secret society that kept top jobs for gays!!
Is that not what hetro men have been doing for years?

Mamya I think you are right. It used to be believed by some people that innocent boys could be “turned” by adult gay men and that being gay was almost synonymous with being a paedophile. Happily today we (well most of us) know better!

It seems that you have more inside information than I have.
There will always be some intolerant people who find homosexuality abhorrent.

sorry OG I don't understand?
I hope so, yes. I mean there will always be people who live in the past or listen to their fears about people who are not “the same” as they are, but I think that change has happened, not just in the way that LGBT people are viewed but in acceptance generally...thinking women in the workplace, women who don’t want children and so on.
Hopefully I'm sure we will, look at the progress over the last 30 years or so. However I think some at least understanding is required. The posts that some find so bigoted are often from people well into their senior years, being gay was illegal in their youth and I think they deserve some slack.
That’s a fair comment Prudie....except I would add that age may be a reason but its not an excuse!

Thank you ladies, my own father in his 70's has recently had my young step brother 'come out' to him, and his attitude was 'no one has the right to tell you who to love' and 'when do we get to meet him' - I was so proud of him.
But my own mother in law behaves in a disgusting manner towards 'gays' yet is only a few years older.
it is very sad that there are people who seem to think they can dictate how others can live their lives.
Still a way to go but hopefully the attitudes are dying out.

Why are gay men criticised more so than gay women?
Question Author
I don't know maybe because seeing 2 women 'at it' is every man's dream so is more acceptable?
well that might explain it from the male POV......

Lol woofgang I thought so
For a long time there have been people who make themselves feel better by 'picking on' and generally having a go at other groups of people..be they gay, black, disabled, fat or foreign etc etc. In my opinion these are people who have low self esteem and picking on a group makes them feel superior and have also been brought up by people who similarly feel inferior.
I think there are still some who have the 'Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve' attitude.
I think there's an element of fear involved, I can't quite explain that but it's the impression I get.
People are wary of anything they aren't used to. Thankfully, as it's hidden less, people should just become more accustomed to it. I think things have improved a lot in quite a short time though.

But it WAS Adam & Steve.

To make a mate a rib was taken from Adam. That means that the mate had the same DNA, and so the same sexual chromosomes, they were the same gender. The church must have been covering it all up by renaming Adam's mate Eve. It's never been quite clear how they bred though.
