My wife has had both knee joints replaced, the latest one in May this year. She emphasises that you must do the exercises that are in a booklet that you are given, and you must do them religiously, and to the letter. It can be a bit of a bind, trying to fit the exercises into your daily routine, but it pays off in the end.
Had mine done 2 years ago .. take all the medication you are given as you may need it the day after the op. Get on with the exercises and get the knee bending.
The physio said I would be walking a mile after a couple of months. 2 days after the surgery I walked the first mile I have walked in years.
It really is the most amazing transformation I have ever experienced and would recommend it to anyone. Being totaly pain free after 40 years of torment.
Using a step counter on my phone I can check the distance I walk every day... an average day is at least 8 miles. It still feels a bit strange to kneel on ..
.. but no pain !
