Had half an hour chat with the Doctor yesterday.
Managed to get some answers and some clarification. Heads up to the man he was very accommodating indeed, and didn't seem to mind explaining things for me.
The scan of head shows no tumours at all, nor does the abdominal one show any tumour in any of his other organs.
However, the cancer is in all lobes of both lungs.
An MDT meeting decided that no further treatment would help or be offered, but he will be discharged to home soon with MacMillan care.
He was a lot less confused when I visited, and looks a lot better than he has this last two months.
We will both be pleased when he can come home :)

Oh Ferlew, awful for you both and so distressing - hope some respite comes soon.

Grab the sleep while you can.x
Hopefully the Valium will give him and you much needed rest, you both have been let down dreadfully by the various services which for what ever reason amounts to neglect .
Oh I do feel for you, Ferlew.....I've had to deal with the hallucinations too and they're distressing and scary I know......

I hope you get better help soon...

Gx

Happy to report Mr F has just got out of bed, sounding SO much better.
I slept through until 8.30am without disturbance at all. Can face the day and all it's tribulations so much better now :)
big hugs ferlew xx
Great news, sleep is great medicine .
That's great ferlew. Hoping you have an equally good day. Xx
So pleased you both had a better night.
Good morning F, I hope you and Mr. F had decent nights rest, has you're support team been to visit/ assist you ?

Thanks for asking, another good night's sleep here for us both.
Had a phone call from Macmillan yesterday afternoon, they are calling in Mondat.
Also SS rang to offer 2 calls, 10am for an hour, and 6.15pm for 30 mins, YES PLEASE!! That also will start Monday.
Got Mr F sort of hovering on scales this morning, (at his request) and despite him eating fairly well, with lots of treats, he continues to lose weight. Just over the 10 stone mark now, previously 14 stones when well. :(

Roll on Monday, friend going back Sunday now she knows help is at hand. Thank goodness for good friends eh?
Good to hear not only a decent night but help is on the way , yes bless your friend indeed.

As long as Mister is eating then that's good, you too I hope.

Take care.x
Hi Ferlew. This all has a terribly familiar ring to it! Whatever you do, make sure he doesn't have a fall if at all possible - I know you've got to have eyes in the back of your head, (!) but do your best. The dementia gets far far worse after a fall, I'm not exaggerating either!
Once the carers are up and running properly, did you know that you can request a night-time carer? I was offered this service when my Dad wouldn't sleep and would just shout for 3 days running. One of them will stay with him for a night, to give you some much needed rest - I know, I've been there too. I didn't get enough help and was really quite ill for 2 years after my Dad's passing. If in doubt, ask Citizens Advice for info as to what you're entitled to. SS should be able to tell you, but it's good to get a second opinion.
Hope everything runs smoothly for you soon!

Thanks for the interest Genuine.
mrF won't even get out of bed now without help, he has become so weak the last few days. Lack of a leg will also prevent him getting anywhere. The Diazepam are keeping him quite a lot less anxious even tho' it's a small dose. (2mg)
Roll on Monday when the help starts arriving, think I will need to ask about a hospital bed too, really struggling to get him up again after he slithers down the bed.
eek - 60 kg is pretty light

I went down to 75 kg from 110kg and looked pretty terrible TBH. Anyway I am glad things are more straightforward and you are getting the help you need and deserve
you should be able to get any equipment you need on loan..ask your district nurse... it's jolly hard work I know after looking after FIL full time for 5 years..both mentally and physically..it is so important you take advantage of any respite offered..for your own well being... xx
Definitely get a bed delivered, they are a godsend and will be so much more comfortable for him too.
Good morning ferlew, I hop you both slept/rested well last night. Thank goodness for friends like you're one this last few weeks. At last the support you and Mr.f require is starting on Monday , do not be wary of asking for equipment for yourselves. Take care.
Good morning, I hope all is well and quiet at you're house today ,

Hello :)
Bit of a full on day with equipment delivery, occupational health lady, two carer visits (yayyyy) and a visit from Macmillan nurse, oops, almost missed off the District Nurse call.
Seems to be all or nothing doesn't it? (Not complaining)
Need a few days for it all to settle into place, and get used to new routines.
So pleased you're support has started ( all be it late) I wish you both well.
