Run Out Of Statins

Cant get a repeat of Simvastatin for 48 hours till I get result of annual bloood test .. Thought I had enough but just used last one last night .. Will it matter if I dont take them for two or three days? I am on 20mg. Thanks all.

Is it usually on a repeat prescription smurf? if so your pharmacist should be able to give you a few days supply....I think they take the amount you have off your next prescription. Good luck x

Hundreds of thousands of people who ought to be taking statins aren't doing so. While that obviously puts them at a higher risk of having a heart attack or a stroke, they aren't all going to drop dead in the next few days ;-)

I stopped taking Statins and 7 other drugs 6 months ago and feel all the better for it

No, a few days won't matter. I was using something short term for thrush in my mouth and my pharmacist told me to stop taking the simvastatin for a week.

Im amazed if I remember to take mine every few days. My doctors computers refers to me as "non compliant" because I always forget to take my statins.
