Went shopping in Morrisons. OH spotted their curry. It is advertised as the hottest curry on the market. It's called a volcanic curry.
Well he ate it tonight. What a performance. He coughed, sneezed, blew his nose and got redder and redder. Never. Seen him like it before. He really loves a hot curry but this was over the top. I tried a tiny bit on the end of my finger, barely tasted but wow was it hot. Really burned.
So if you want a hot curry you know where to go.

I wish we still had a Morrison's around here. I love a hot curry. This sounds too much for me, but I'd like to try, anyway.
For heaven's sake, Caran......there's enough hot air on here and you want to add to it!..... :-)

Apparently it is 200 times hotter than Tabasco sauce and registers one million on the Scoville scale.
So there's even more hot air gness!
A Madras is about as hot as I can take it. Anything hotter, such as Vindaloo or Phal, are to my mind a waste of money as you can't taste the ingredients, just the burning sensation.
Got a link Caren? I shop in Morrisons now and then when I take my mum to do a shop. I love curries and have got to try this....
Is it a frozen meal thing?

That's the fun of it JD!
here you go, nailit (same as in tonyav's link, by the look of it)

AB all over the place, Tonys link not there when I posted...

Nailit it is in the fresh takeaway section, at the moment
It's part of their main and a side for £7. But you can buy it on its own if you want to.
What puts me off about supermarket curries is that they only come in one type: chicken. They don't consider people like me who don't like chicken but would appreciate a beef or lamb curry.
Brilliant Caran....I hope Mr C doesn't mind me chuckling at his shenanigans, but I used to love a hot curry....not any more, as I do exactly the same but with added tears streaming down my face, puffing my cheeks, start a sweat, and fanning myself with anything I can find, so I totally sympathise with your OH.....the big question is Will he buy it again?

A vindaloo is about my limit....a Phaal - forget it!
Question Author
Sorry two mains and two sides for £7.
I'm the same as Jackdaw. Madras is my very limit. I've got sensitive throat and will end up coughing all the time! My OH likes a hot curry, usually Vindaloo.
Gotta ask, are these hot curries just as hot coming out as they are as hot going in ?.
( I don't know because I've never had a curry in my life ).
I also agree with Jack, a good curry should be rounded and be able to detect all the individual spice layers, not take the roof off your mouth.

Always Lamb for me, Dopiaza or Jalfrezi, topped with fresh coriander.
oh had a show off, bragging moment and tried a phaal. I tried a sm spoonful and hated it. I dont see the point of overwhelming heat that sacrifices flavour
