It's still too new and raw for me to make a decision as to whether i have regrets about getting pregnant/ continuing the pregnancy. When i had my daughter in 2012 i was a fairly...

no - it would be offered at 46 - no one really HAS to have anything
and yes - the chance is 2% I think at 46.
In my own family - there is a long tradition of grandparents mucking in and taking on the kids - so we always have had old parents knocking around somewhere

My mother was 38 when she had my youngest sister, and arguable my little sister is the most perfect human you'll ever meet. She's now 18, and she's kind, beautiful, smart and funny. I know I'm biased!! There were a few comments about my Mum being an older mother, but I guess she had the life experience to go with that and she was an incredible Mum.
All the best Islay :-)

i suppose it was easier for me, as i knew i really wanted children, and it didnt matter to me about my age. Perhaps you need to decide if you do want to try or not first but always remember it is harder to get pregnant in your 40's, and even harder in your later 40's You can do somethings to help yourself if you do decide to - you can have a blood test to check your egg reserves, you can tack your cycles with a fertility monitor to see if you are ovulating and so on.
I became "pregnant by proxy" aged 47. He is almost 24 now and a delight. The work involved was almost unbearable at times but ultimately worth it. When he was just 7 years old I became his main carer legally. Will never forget the overwhelming feeling of responsibility on me. Glad I was able to deliver. It cost me a house and my health in retrospect....... no regrets..... not even for a second.
