My father has got a blood clot in his eye. My mother phoned me and told me we are not sure what it is so they have gone to a&e. My father has AF like myself and is on rivoroxaban. I did not think they should take any chances with it being the eye. I dont know whether it is as a result of the rivoroxaban or a result of a clot moving.
What do you mean by 'a blood clot in his eye'? Is it simply a bloodied area in the white of his eye or has it been suggested that there's an obstruction in a vein supplying the retina ('retinal vein occlusion'), leading to impaired vision? He is home now the doctor thinks the bleed was caused by his blood pressure which was quite high he has been put on lisinapril straight away 5mg and told to see GP on Monday it was 189/90
