I read about this in the Daily Mail yesterday. It doesn't surprise me. It may not be a cure...too many variables with dementia. But what we eat has a huge impact on our health...current and future. It's only recently that more research is being done into nutrition.

I have recently ... Because I had to ... Research into vitamin B12 deficiency and found so much out that I never knew and even some doctors aren't clued up on.
They are saying that there is a link between dementia and B12 deficiency and they are doing more research on it. B12 works for the nervous system so to not have neurological signs of the deficiency .... One of the known symptoms, one needs to have B12. Certain foods contain it and of course you can take supplements.
I personally feel that a change of diet if the gut is able to absorb the vitamin from food... Some can't .... would be the way to go. I just wish doctors would test certain people for this as a matter of course.

Yes Eleena it certainly is interesting because we rarely consider our symptoms are down to low vitamins and minerals. Vitamin D deficiency is another one with gives us bad symptoms as is low iron and ferritin. What I know about it with regard to the medical profession is that a lot of doctors and consultants rarely or if ever go for the basics. IMO and experience, they over think things and go for tests tablets etc whereas if they started at the basics and investigated deficiencies, it would IMO save a lot of money in the NHS.
It's like when we were younger, every day we were given a teaspoon of malt extract and cod liver oil and occasional castor oil (yuk). We also had a little bottle of lovely orange juice (not like any we get today) and of course, milk at school. It does make you wonder if some of the ills today with children is because they don't get anything like this. Can you imagine if they did lol.
