Hair Dye With No Allergic Reaction?
12 Answers
After my severe reaction last month I’ve been googling for hair dyes that don’t cause allergic reactions, and I’ve seen a couple, but has anyone actually tried any of them?? Obviously whatever I buy I will do a patch test but would be nice to have some actual feedback.

There are many different makes of colour these days ! She always does a patch test though...INSIST on this if you go to a salon!! as the dye will touch your scalp when its rinsed through..after its taken, but diluting it with the water may stop the problem.. I'm sorry I don't know many non salon colours ..Henna is a good one .. but has limited shades.. whatever you choose.. PATCH TEST.. hope this has been of some help! have a good weekend.. Mrs C x

I am very allergic to permanent dyes- not sure what ingredient but my patch test was instantly horrible! I use Casting dyes at home with no problem, and at the hairdresser I use various semi-permanent dyes; but they have done a patch test for everything in advance. You can buy a dye and in the instructions it will tell you how to do a test- just dab a bit of the colour (usually a tube) behind your ear. If you don't react, you should be fine. If you apply dye and it starts to tingle or itch etc, wash it straight out.
