Further to my upcoming surgery for removal of anal canal polyp

I completely forgot to ask the Consultant what type of operation it will be ( well i didn't think of it at the time )

Will it likely , be removed through the rectum or will it be done by way of an incision ?

Sqad will know but nowadays I think thru rectum..anal canal. Poor you...u have my utmost empathy xx
I had one of those removed. I woke up laying on a blood soaked pad so it's not done by way of an incision (sorry to be graphic) I would imagine it was a very quick procedure
It's done by laser under basically a quick knock out injection no pain quick and easy and out of the hospital in about an hour afterwards
No cutting Bazile....all done through a small rigid tube slipped into your anus. Done under sedation.
Might be a bit "bloody" as 237 suggested.

Thanks

How long before you were back to normal activities , 237SJ, after you had yours removed ?
I can't remember. I know that I sat around in the hospital all day and ended up being one of the last day patients to be seen. I don`t think I was "done" until after 3 pm and was home for tea. I was out and about the next day but I seem to remember I had a week off work. I would imagine if you had a "normal" job, you would be back straight away.
I remember being scared to go to the loo in case everything burst open and the loo ended up looking like the battle of culloden had taken place in there but it's didn't happen - I was fine, no blood at all.
LOL...LOL...^^^ Battle of Colloden.
If your procedure is delayed until 17:45 and your surgeon a Mr Wade, think ong and hard about postponing. :-P
