Flu Jab
7 Answers
My doctor has asked me to have the flu jab this year and so I have booked one but am surprised to be asked!
I am 56, on medication for high blood pressure and underactive thyroid, but am otherwise fit and healthy, have an active and demanding job and also look after my husband and son.
Is it my age that the doctor is now looking at?!
Many thanks,
Ros

I think that's why you have been invited, and not anything to do with anything else...but I suggest just double checking with your GP. I'm sure that she/he, or one of the administration staff would be happy to answer any questions you have.
Hope this helps,

dont get worried, it's all about money. The surgfery gets more money if the hit or exceed their targets for flu jabbing people. In my pct, the district nurses are not doing the jabs for housebound elderly people that arent on their caseload already, as its just too time consuming. To get round this, and to meet their targets they have been getting the practice nurses to go out to people, to make sure they get their money (this is complicayted because the district nurses arent employed by the surgery, and practice nurses are)
