I posted a query on here some weeks ago about my wife's problems, post-cataract, saying that Moorfields had decreed that nothing was amiss, and asking whether I should get a second opinion.

Some self-opinionated burk (I forget his name) told me I was Utterly Wrong and that I should believe in Every Word that came down from a Moorfield's consultant.

Well, Mrs B saw another consultant yesterday, also a Moorfields surgeon, who said that yes, there was a problem with the old lens cells starting to regrow and push the new lens out of place in the envelope, and no, it was an easy job to laser it and solve the problem.

I just wanted to point out that if you feel something isn't right, then it is often worth pursuing, just to be on the safe side, and that those who talk the loudest (either in a Moorfield's clinic or on Answerbank) aren't always as right as they think they are.

(PS It's nice to be proved right once in a while.)
I was interested as I have had both cataracts done within the last year. No problems thankfully
Question Author
Yes, mine too - no problem.

Mrs B’s arose after a couple of years - as I said above, it’s not that big a deal to fix - once you’ve identified the problem.
Hope all goes well

yup me - guilty as charged - very glad the wife has been rediagnosed properly this time.

any explanation why this wasnt discovered by the FIRST world renowned eye surgeon ? just asking.

but you are certainly right - doctors can be wrong ( er the first one) as well as us mere mortals on AB, and me - yup very wrong - lucky that most of us dont take the advice we are given on AB ! - [on Law we think there has only been one in 15y] - so well done for ignoring AB and doing what you were gonna do anyway.

My apologies for the offensive remarks, PP. I was just relieved at Mrs B finally receiving help.

As far as reading your posts goes, I read everything, on the basis that if someone’s bothered writing it, the least I can do is to read it!

erm no offence taken
free speech
you really can say anything you like .....
I am glad the wife can see again
Question Author
Gracious, PP, but my speech was too free, and I shall behave with more thought in future.
