This Is A Long Shot

I have had removable Valplast 4 front teeth for about 3 years now and will never get used to them in my mouth. Just a constant feeling of a couple of brandyballs in my mouth.

I was offered implants many years ago but was too frightened. Anyway I have an appointment soon to see implantologists who are going to give me free x-rays, scans and consultation per se.

Again this is a long shot - since my first titatanium teeth were hardly used - could this "dentist" use these teeth and add them to the "screws" of the new implants. This would cut the cost enormously.

trouble with my teeth from I was 10 years old - my mother musta prophesied and told me to get falsies at 10 years old LOL

one of the times coming out of the dentist at that age - I had been gassed out - she (mum) asked me did I want sweeties - OMG. Nuts and raisins - do think I said yes, LOL

jj, most of mine are singletons (because my teeth do not fall out in an orderly fashion) but I have one bridge of three that has just the one implant at each end, none in the middle.

thanks for that Jno - got a little insight - I know everything depends on the bone loss and strength of mouth in general so only an x-ray will show that up.

also recently I have noticed that I am lisping badly - I lisp as it is with my deafness so I need more lisping like a hole in the head.

Hi again - I was reading a booklet sent to me by the dentist re the implants and one of pages said that when you get the implants you may have to wear temporary teeth per se. Do you know if I can use my own valplast denture when waiting. Thanks

thanks for your answer Mamy - just in from a funeral - my third in a week and also paid 2 hospital visits pretty far away to two different friends.

anyway one of the girls I was talking to said her MIL got implants at 80 years of age and Botox for her eightieth birthday.

When you have your initial appointment where the implants are inserted, you may be without teeth for a week or so - all depends on your dentist.
When I had mine done, I had a denture consisting of 2 teeth, which I was not allowed to wear for a week, whilst the stitches healed (I locked myself in the house for a week and when I went out I wore a scarf .... luckily it was Feb so I got away with it).
When I had the stitches out, the dentist trimmed my denture back, to prevent it making contact with the gums where the implants had been inserted. I was told this beforehand and I thought that the gap between the denture and gums would have been visible, but it was hardly noticeable.
In theory, your denture should fit after the surgery, but nothing is guaranteed.
Best to talk to your dentist, as I suppose it'll all depend on what route he follows.
