Hair Loss Due To Diabetes.
4 Answers
I have been diagnosed with diabetes type 2 , I have noticed over the last couple of years my hair has thinned which I accepted as normal due to ageing. Since Sept it got a lot worse with clumps of hair coming out at the roots. It was Dec before I was told I had diabetes. Can anyone tell me if it will continue or will it ease off now I will be getting treatment . Thanks

It might OR it might not. Type 2 diabetes is certainly associated with thinning of the hair as other hormonal disorders are e. under active thyroid, but experience has shown us that replacement therapy does not necessarily reverse the problem of hair thinning. So.......... wait and see I'm afraid.

I've had hair loss, which could be type 2 or perimenopause, but one thing I've learned is that hair loss is very often a reaction from the body of something which happened 3 months earlier. I gave up carbs and went keto for 3 months and then my hair started to really fall out, and my periods stopped! It's like the body takes 3 months to notice the change and then drops your hair in order to protect other more important things like internal organs. So it might be worth looking back 3 months and see if you made any changes. Also, it is cyclical, so you will lose hair for a few months and then it will grow back again. https:/ /www.dr ugs.com /health -guide/ telogen -effluv ium.htm l
