Normal?
21 Answers
I have been on the pill for at least 12 years had small breaks before. But I’ve forgotten what normal is. I’ve recently came off Noriday to see how my cycle is to see how I’ll fair in conception (periods are a nightmare usually for me).
Since stopping I’ve noticed an improvement in my sugars and diabetes. But my appetite can be horrendous or non existent. I am also eating better, more fruits and veg and more water and less juice. My hair growth is pretty rapid, a small whisker on my face has re-appeared, my temperature is one or the other - I’d happily go stand outside right now in shorts and tee, my moods up and down (psycho side still AWOL). Gynae area quite a few twinges and my discharge is very jelly like (TMI sorry) no current requirement for pain relief.
Is my body just resetting to a normal setting - what ever normal is for me. I don’t remember having to shave every 2 days. No sign of a period yet and I’m definitely not pregnant. How long will it take to fully settle?

I would monitor the situation. I would think two weeks and you'll feel "normal".
Hormone levels can change for many reasons, due to cycle, old age or even environment (ie a stressful one).

I also have a decent knowledge of hormones as my thyroid levels haven't been perfect before so i've done research. In doing so you discover many factors and variables can affect hormone levels. And reading queenies OP, it would seem everything she has described from the flushes to appetite even to sugar levels can all be affected by hormones. And everyone knows contraceptive pills play havoc with them, so coming off of a pill you will notice a lot of differences.
Regarding the cycle, being on a pill will prevent a natural cycle (obviously) so i assume discharge would be consistent. Now off of pill and hormones changing, cycle starting to turn again, it is to be expected that the consistency of the discharge will also.
If queenie is worried, or would like some serious medical examination, i'm sure she can visit her GP
