Funny Episode

I had a funny episode at my parents' house light night. I've not been feeling well the last few days and I've had a cold with chesty cough and a tummy bug with bad diarrhoea to contend with.

I was sat at the table and suddenly felt really unwell, like I do when my blood pressure drops. I tried to make it to the bathroom but ended up sitting on the floor in the hallway. Then I had what I can only describe as a vacant episode and I'm not sure how long I was staring out but when I became conscious of my surroundings again I felt extremely unwell, I was trembling and my head was nodding rapidly. My parents helped me onto the sofa and they say I was white and clammy. I started to recover fairly quickly once I was lying down but my parents were quite spooked.

Any ideas?

not really, I've had a couple of "episodes" that turned out to be pill-related, but just to wish you good luck in finding out what caused this and hopefully dealing with it. Nasty when these things happen.

Whoaaa LadyCG, doesn't sound to good to me ( warrants an appointment with your GP imo ). I'll have a bet that it's blood pressure related though.

might also be some dehydration involved if you've had diarrhoea

I probably was quite dehydrated.

With the tummy bug you have decreased the amount of essential minerals your body needs. You can purchase the replenish drinks at most chemists and health stores. Best see your GP though, just in case.

I am not sure what the GP can offer, but I agree with the above who suggest dehydration and subsequent lowering of your BP was the problem. Make sure that you take plenty of fluids and monitor the situation over the next few days.
