Teeth Too Sharp

I want to sleep on my left side (there are various physical reasons why other positions are difficult).

Trouble is, when I sleep, my tongue rests on my teeth, and those to the left of my mouth must be a bit sharp, as they dig into my tongue and wake me.

Would any of the tooth guards on the market be any help?

Which?
Any that cover the teeth which are causing you problems.

This would probably do. I assume like a rugby guard, you put it in hot water and then mould it to your teeth. If it makes you gag a bit, but half a CM off the back of it, so it may not cover the wisdom teeth

cut half a CM*

Get out of that spath!
Read loads of reviews BB, the one i just provided has some good ones, but a lot of bad ones also.

This looks quite perfect but i mean.. look into it a bit more

As spath says, there are tooth guards on the internet which may well improve the situation for you, but my main concern in their use would be sleep apnoea.....snoring and stopping breathing....a particular concern if your are elderly and have cardiovascular disease.
My advice would be to either live with your problem, or see your dentists who would "smooth off" the offending tooth.
I used the wifes nail file on my sharpie. No problem.
If tooth is hurting tongue, then wrapping tooth in a mould would prevent it from touching tongue, preventing it from causing harm.

Sqad is right, most mouth guards are for people who grind their teeth or have issue with snoring.

I see your issue similar to that of grinding the teeth
spath, you misconstrued my post.......sleep apnoea and snoring would be undesirable side effects of mouth guards.
Can't your dentist grind the edge off it ?
Sqad reading online, they are things mouth guards can apparently prevent. However, i trust a sinus doc over a shopping listing, so fair play.

bainbrig it may be good to take note of that miscommunication ^
i had this and went to dentist ,he said i'd lost a piece of filling which left a sharp edge ,he refilled it and no bother since x

Spath “I see your issue similar to that of grinding the teeth” - precisely, so do I, although tooth-grinding per se isn’t my problem; it is lying on my left side!

I too try a sandboard to get rid of the sharp bits, but oddly, it’s hard to locate them - easy at 2 in the morning, though.

filing your own teeth is a wild move in my eyes. Always get dental work done by professional.

I also faced this issue a few years ago..
