Period stopping then restarting

I just had my period and it only last a day and a half(they are normally very short like 3 days most) but this time it stopped for 2 days and then started back up. I have been taking birthcontrol pills for a couple years and this has never happen before and I'm only 21...What's up? Has anyone else ever had this happen?
