Antihistamines are different from Hydrocortisone.

You can use either as a cream......Phenergan cream ( antihistamine) OR hydrocortisone cream 1%

Take your pick as it really doesn't matter which.

I find hydrocortisone cream works better for me than antihistamines or antihistamine cream.

Yes 237...I agree, although I don't know why it should.

I kind of think that by the time you have a whole lot of itching mozzie bites it's a bit late for antihistamines. Hydrocortisone takes the inflammation of out of them and helps a bit. Maybe that is just me though.

I went to Australia once. I arrived in the middle of the night and the friend I was staying with and I stayed up in the garden all night talking. The next day, I counted 63 mozzie bites on my legs. I was scratching like a dirty old dog for days. I think I must have got some kind of immunity from that because I hardly react to mozzies these days.

I swear by good old fashioned Germolene. Whiffs a bit but is also a mild anaesthetic which helps ease itches.

My doctor told me that it is better to use Hydrocortisone cream than anti histamine on bites, it works better and stops swellings.
