I had a riding accident yesterday and have lost 2 hours, will I ever remember what happened?
Also the A&E doctor is a bit concerned about a possible fracture to my spine as he has said there is shadowing there.
Anybody experienced a fracture to the spine? I was told to rest whilst he got it checked by someone on Monday.
My head is splitting when will it be ok to drive?
I was in an accident a few years ago and ended up with a broken bone and a deep cut on my head where I banged it against a rail. I never recovered any memory of the accident or the journey in the ambulance to A&E.
As a comparatively new comer and novice to horse riding are you not recommended to have an experienced equestrian with you and why can’t they fill in your ‘lost’ two hours for you and explain what went wrong?
Annea maybe, I will go back to the doctor if not gone by Thursday, I am trying to rest believe me.
For some reason the dogs have it in their minds that I need waking up every hour during the day lol
Rockrose, it depends on the nature of the fracture. I was told many years ago that I had several small fractures in the spine.I have not really had any trouble with them.I would follow the doctor's advice and rest until you hear from the doctor.
// Ael already on getting back on the horse as soon as possible//
oh then you probably havent broken anything
you doan sortta get up and do it again if you have a broken bone
loss of memory - wait and see - the length of memory loss before the accident ( retro grade ) and the memory loss after ( when you were conscious and oriented ) is related to severity of injury (*)
(*) the process of conversion of an electrical memory into a permanent ( probably protein ) memory is disrupted by trauma yap ya yap blah blah blah
No worries. Thanks for your poor attempt to solicit unwarranted sympathy again. I note you didn’t deny or confirm if you were accompanied by ,obviously, a more competent equestrian instructor. You needn’t then wonder were two hours went. Were you riding unaccompanied?
// and why can’t they fill in your ‘lost’ two hours for you and explain what went wrong?//
memory loss is a physical sign
( hey have to seen the film Pretty Peaches? anyway she is not asking about that)
The memory loss may slowly return over weeks and months depending on the severity
you should be taking this more seriously
the dogs are right
Imagine if there was an air ambulance and you were choppered to the hospital by lots of hunky medics ... and you didn't remember one single thing about it.
Thanks Peter they are waiting for the swelling to go down.
Retrocop, I do wonder why you even bother, I was not trying to get sympathy, you will think what you are thinking no matter what I post!
