Crowns - Band 3 - £269.30

Question Author
Thanks Spath. I have been quoted 280€ here, so about right I guess.
It sounds reasonable ; the price you have been quoted. My dentist charges from £300.00 for a crown. However, if an original crown needs re-cementing, it's a 'mere' £40.00.

Hans.
I guess 280 euro is a reasonable price, although slightly on the cheaper but still reasonable side.
There are crowns and fitting, and then there are crowns and fitting. Use the NHS price as the minimum you could pay for basic crown & preparation.
£269.30 is the figure I was given last week for one. The annoying thing is my dentist will do two for the same price - but I don't fancy smashing another tooth to take advantage of this special offer.
Captain, that's because that is the maximum the NHS dentist can charge for one course of treatment. The NHS will pay him more for two crowns than one :)

My dentist wants £1200 for a bridge. As if dental work isn't painful enough
Yes he did explain that hc - I'm still not smashing another tooth though. :))
Like Cashier I was quoted £269.30 for an NHS crown last week, which as it is a very back tooth would be metal. He is doing me a private crown in white for £277., such a small difference that is what I have gone for.
Nothing, if you need it and qualify for free NHS Dental Treatment !!
^^EDDIE's usual useful input, I see.
