After some headaches, decided to go for eye test, first in four years.
Optician said no change in my normal vision but needed new reading glasses. 8 plus for left eye, can't remember the right.
Since then, vision becoming blurred, can only read with left eye closed and see everything through my right eye.
I suffer severe anxiety and depression spending days in bed not wanting to get up to do anything. God bless Mrs T for running things and keeping the world away.
But wondering if I need even more new glasses?
I sometimes use a magnifying glass to read my bible.
I know what to do, go back, but I just wondered if anybody had similar experience?
To be honest, problems in life get me down, and sometimes I cannot do more than go to bed and stay there. Sad case eh? I know, but this depression is so taxing, that if my life is not going to change in the next hour, O just leave things alone.
Hi theland x I don't wear glasses and I'm not sure- but I'm sure I have heard that it takes a couple of days to get used to new glasses, as although they are prescribed for what you need, your brain needs to get used to them.
I would definitely go back if it seems to be a change in actual eyesight/ double vision etc xx
This doesn't sound like a problem for an optician, but rather a doctor.
I have never been convinced that headaches are anything to do with abnormalities of refraction.
just a small thought - neighbour got new glasses and couldn't hardly see through them - brought them back to opticians and guess what she cleaned them. That was it.
I'd mention it to my G.P.. A friend has double-vision after a blood-pressure surge and some damage to optic nerve. Also, I've been referred to ophthalmology by my optician (who suspects that I am following my dad into glaucoma) and the first thing they did was to take my blood-pressure and say it can affect vision.
