I've just been offered the above. Are there any side effects from having one?

I had one years ago with no side effects.
Yes.....flu-like symptoms, pain and swelling at site of injection.........perhaps only 10% will get these side effects.
I had one last year, no nasty side effects whatsoever.
I had one 2 years ago (same day as my 'flu jab, but in the other arm) and the only side effect was a slightly sore arm for a few hours. A friend has just had one with his 'flu jab- but they used the same arm and a few hours later his arm swelled and became extremely painful around the site for a short while (matter of hours). I'm very glad I had it done as I'm asthmatic.

Just hope I'm not one of the 10%:-)
Had mine last week, was waylaid by my Pharmacy!

No side effects and I'm still alive
Injection or pneumonia ? I say take it .
No side effects at all and it lasts for life apparently.
I too had one last year with no side effects. Go for it, prevention is better than getting pneumonia.
My wife and I had one a year or two ago - totally unaware of anything other than the injection itself.
Go for it! I certainly will it I get offered it when I have my flu jab next Saturday.
I had one and no problem at all unlike the flu shot where my arm aches for 48 hours.

I had my flu jab yesterday and it was suggested that I should have the pneumonia jab as well. I've accepted and I'm having it tomorrow...a no brainer really.
same here no problems x
Why didn't they do them both at the same time?

Dunno, wolf. I was just there for the flu jab and I'm going to the surgery to have my type 2 assessed, tomorrow. 2 birds with one stone and all that.
I was in at the surgery to get blood tests done on Monday and was asked if I wanted my flu jags there and then.

I hope that you are having more luck with your diabetic diet than I am.

It's my first consultation, wolf. In the meantime I've cut down on the carbs and sweet stuff and I've also stopped drinking:-(
I've also got to take the diverticulitis into consideration. They're no hard and fast rules on this, so I've gone down the high fibre route.
All will be revealed tomorrow, hopefully.
I had one a couple of weeks ago then later I had a flu jab. No adverse reaction. The nurse said all people of a certain age will be offered one soon.
