should you drink in a day to keep yourself hydrated? Does it depend what time of the year it is?

jno - I did hear the water in London tasted naff. I would add squash, it's still mainly water (I still can't get my head around the fact that cucumber is mainly water). I have two water filters in a cupboard, inherited and never been used.

When I was very young there were water fountains in the parks etc, gradually they went - on our countryside hikes we would take an empty pop bottle of tap water along with our sandwiches and cash it in when home.

It is fashionable to be drinking some form of liquid almost non-stop and to constantly carry a supply in one hand and a mobile phone in the other. This is what the new human race does - the former one died out from dehydration because it was daft enough to go by whether people felt thirsty or not. The new human race will of course live forever, or at least until a new fashion takes over.

And it does come down to your wee. I used to work in a hospital and they had pee charts on every ward.

Funny though...I was taken into hospital, NBM, very low BP so they had me on intravenous fluids. I was being told to drink as much as I can...blah blah...and then the lady came round with tea and coffee while I was drinking some lucozade. She asked if I should be drinking it and pointed to the board behind me which still had NBM written on it. Lucky I was ill and didn't notice I hadn't been fed or watered for 3 days!!
