Why for example , in the case of eye medication ; is the flap of the box containing the product from one manufacturer sealed down with a piece of tape and the same medication from another manufacturer not sealed down ?

For Example - Dexamethasone from the two different manufacturers below

Dexafree - ( Thea Pharmaceuticals Ltd )

Dropodex - ( Rayner )

The latest prescription dispensed by my pharmacy has changed from
Dexafree ( sealed box ) to Dropodex ( unsealed box)

No idea.
I get the same Baz with my two - Dorzolamide and Latanaprost. Never sure which pack you are getting next.

However the bottles do have seals on them too.
And why do they change the packaging? I have two lots of meds which look almost identical. I took an extra dose of water tablets by accident!! And I've taken a Nytol thinking it was paracetamol.
Just lately most of my medications have had the flap sealed with sellotape. Maybe it is the chemist who does sit.
The last batch I got has ticks on them. It's like they checked it and ticked it. So last month...did no one check it?!
I can't get the pills pushed out through the seals but now I know - just puncture them and release the vacuum and now they do come out.
Think it depends on where your pharmacist gets their meds from.

ummmm

Wasn't there two sections on the dispensary label marked
'Disp ' ' chkd' (or similiar ) which were initialled ?
On some it's just a squiggle. Others are just ticks. Last months...nothing.

My latest eye medication dispensed, has the ticks and circles
and also the 'disp' 'chkd'
Yet other medications which i have , don't have any ticks or circles even though it's from the same pharmacy .
It must depend on the pharmacist dispensing at the time
My various medication now all have tape on the flaps of the boxes.

I suspect the hand of the EU in this, you know how they like to control stuff. :-)
