Best Warmest Base Layers

need good warm thermal gear for work, i have just recieved thermal long johns from ebay but dont think they would be the warmest.

im asking people in the know, cyslists / skiers etc

what brand and what material is best and warmest

I'm told by a beach fisherman that Jack Wolfskin stuff does the business.
No direct experience though... I just multi-layer with natural fabrics under a good outer layer, that way you can shed if you get too warm. Always found thermals too itchy and tight.

Buy woman’s thick knit tights I know some men like better than any long johns. Just have to make a front opening on them.
