he gave me both colchicine and alopurinol, cannot take too much NSAIDs
does gout get worse when first embarking on a new treatment of preventitive meds ( alopurinol ) cant find anything on google but think ive heard somewhere that gout will get worse when started on this drug

I feel your pain. I suffered AKI due to overdose of contrast dye. I used to take Diclofenac 50g 3 times a day but as it is a NSAID told never to use it again.
When I get gout I bite the bullet and take a few Diclofenac. I really have got to the stage of past caring. I cannot stand being immobile

Ask your GP about the possibility of corticosteroids. If the pain's really bad, phone 111 if you're in GB. If you're still in NI, phone the relevant number shown here:

yes there is something you can do
take lansop for stomach acid and THEN up the NSAIDs - drop your llansop or ranitidine now and you can take more NSAID in an hour or two - it works that quick
and paracetamol
why arent you taking colcha? It works quite well
and here is the advice on allopurinol
Do not start allopurinol during an acute attack of gout
Allopurinol should not be started at the time of an acute attack of gout, however, if a patient is already taking it regularly, then it should be continued at the same dose.1 Aug 2017

I know the pain.
Allupurinol is my prescribed med and it does help. Needed steroids at start to kill pain as it took a while for Allupurinol to take effect.
Cherries are great, but where do you get fresh at this time of year. Don't want to use the tinned ones as the syrup is too much sugar.
I read too that pineapple is also beneficial. But as it's too much for one person to eat in a few days I freeze the chunks and just add a few to a glass of water. It also helps stop the acid cutting my mouth.
