I've Just Been Diagnosed With Diverticulitis

and I am having difficulty finding a diet to follow. Does anyone have a precise diet to follow ?

Beginners guide to making milk kefir ..
You need at least one Teaspoon of milk kefir grains ..
Place about 1 teaspoon of grains into a jar..
Pour in your chosen milk (250ml)..
Place the lid on, or cover with a cloth and a rubber band.
Let your jar sit at room temperature away from direct sunlight for 24-48 hours ..
Strain finished kefir into a jar through a non-metallic, fine-mesh strainer ..
That's it, nothing complicated and you will have a never ending supply of Kefir milk.

A little tip regarding looking after the Kefir .. the grains will be as happy as Larry in their new found milk. If you want your drink a bit thicker, just leave the Kefir in the milk for more than 24 hours. You will get a richer, thicker drink the longer you leave it.
You probably only have a small amount of grains to start with. The grains will multiply fairly quickly depending on where you keep them.
What I did is keep them at room temperature, then strain them every morning and put the drink in the fridge( I much preferred a cold drink). Then just top the grains up with more milk and leave them overnight again. Before you know it you will soon have plenty grains. to get rid of. One solution is to put them onto Ebay .. again and again !
Think about it .. these supermarket drinks with the 'friendly bacteria' have been on the shelves for days if not weeks .. you now have your own freindly bacteria drink that couldn't be fresher !

alvahalf. I am doing great. made for the last two mornings. I do at night then its ready for the morning.
I had with porridge today, but yesterday I made a smoothie. I am Lucky ??? I lost my sense of taste and smell 2 years ago so I cant smell or taste it. My diveticulitis has been settled for 5 days now. I am taking approx 8 prunes before bed and that is helping too. Many thanks x
