Mr BM had a tia on our honeymoon. His CT scan revealed that he had had at least one other of which he was unaware. We are expecting further results this week. So yes it's entirely possible.
Definitely, a great story when my husband managed care homes many years ago, old lady found slumped in chair, staff couldn't find pulse, GP and family called, while my ex was on the phone telling the daughter she had died said old lady walked past the office.... bit of mouth droop and a scan to confirm. She didn't have a clue.
Yes Tilly my OH had ‘ another’ mini stroke last June the day after we returned from a holiday , the brain scan showed he’d had another previously by the scarring
Tilly, it just seems funny advice. If she is having balance issues then she should get a proper assessment even though the event happened some time ago. I also wasn't aware that they could date old events like that...I mean I know they can say its not new but even to say it happened last year sounds a little odd...I mean why not the year before? Has she been given any preventative advice? Maybe she just doesn't want to talk about it or couldn't take in what she was told? her GP should be getting a letter, maybe she might find it helpful to talk to him?
I think my friend has just told me the gist of what she was told at the hospital. She has retained the things that she feels daunted by...a previous mini stroke and possibly having to use a walking stick.
I'm sure further treatment will be offered, she just hasn't got round to that part yet.
