My sister has moved in with me so two oldies can sit out this crisis together. However she is worried about post (especially bills) that are being delivered to her place. In the present lockdown Boris quite sensibly has said we should stay at home. Does that mean therefore I can't go in my car to her house to pick up her post?
As it could be months it's worth getting post redirected unless her house is only minutes away and you go once a week. And let main bill senders aware of temp new address
It's unlikely you will be prevented from doing that, jw. There's hardly any police anyway. They only appear when firearms and knives are mentioned. What we should now be wary of are all the Stasi-type neighbours who will report you for what they see as terrible breaches of the regulations. Like the people who used to phone the police if you were playing football in front of their house. There will be many neighbourhood watchers - watching you! Trust me. It will happen.
why not just get the mail redirected? you can do it on the phone or online, Sis and I have just done the same thing. this means that if the restrictions get worse or you can't go, she will still get her mail.
If she’s moved in with you and needs post directed presumably you’ll be driving to an empty house, on a mission of support.
So I wouldn’t worry.
“Stay at home” I think means don’t go out if you don’t need to. Some common sense is needed
