Hayfever?

I've only ever suffered with hayfever once in my life as far as I know, and that was a few years back.

I've had a mild sore throat for the last few days and slightly blocked and runny nose. No other symptoms. Could this be hayfever? As a non-sufferer, is there any reason why I could have it now?

Thanks

I'm walking around with a kitchen roll in my hand.
Pollen count very high at the moment Tigg.
Loads of grass pollen
sore throat isn't usually strongly associated with HF
I
A high pollen count Tigger, and all the selfish *** have gone out to mow their lawns at the same time, escaping their partners I shouldn't wonder.
Your throat is probably a bit sore as you're nose is blocked. Don't know if it's hay fever though. Could be something like Rhinitis.
I too have never suffered it before Tiggs till now, streaming eyes and excessive sneezing but no sore throat
apologies, first answer went too early

My eyes are not streaming which I know is very common with hayfever.

Just wondering why I have a mild sore throat which I've had for the last 3 days now.
high pollen count, dry breezy weather, excellent year for blossom trees and the wind pollinated trees generally blowing stuff everywhere. Its a dreadful period for hay fever. I didn't get hayfever until I was in my 30's and it hit me really hard...has tailed off over the last 35 years but I have it worse this year than other years when its mild to non existent.
PS I get "dry" hayfever now...no runny eyes/nose but itchy/sore nose throat and a dry cough. I know its not COVID because its the same every year
Yes, dry tickly throat definitely is a part of hay fever. Why not try taking some antihistamines for a week to see if it eases?
jj I find antihistamines make my nose and throat dryer when I get the dry kind of hayfever.

Good idea, Jazzy!

Thanks all :o)
If it is hayfever Tigs I find Boots one a day allergy tablets very good and don't make you sleepy. If you can get them that is.

Thanks Rosie :o)
Pollen count is high most days, while the dry sunny weather is here. Or it could just be a cold. Or other allergy. I'd be more inclined to think a cold. Well that, or the plague.

Anything but the plague!
I've had it also...drippy nose, dry scratchy throat that I want to keep clearing. It's been like this for about a month. I checked the pollen count about 2 weeks ago...it was very high then and had stayed high. I've had this in the past...I'm just very, very aware of it this year.

Maybe because of the hot weather over Easter, although not sure how pollen release works weather/time of year wise.
Allergies can begin at any age. My husband never had it until he was in his 60s. It may not even be hay fever as such. I react to flower pollen at this time of year and tree mould in the autumn. I am really suffering at the moment!
