Also remember that the organs are rather tightly packed. The liver, kidneys, heart, etc are all packed together in the chest cavity area so there is not much space for them to go elsewhere.
Organs are held in place by ligamentous attachments - for example, all your intestines are attached to one spot at the back of your abdominal cavity by a huge ligament called the mesentery. Your heart is attached to your diaphragm, your kidneys are tucked in underneath your peritoneum, your bladder is suspended by a couple of big broad ligaments. Of course, as you get older things slacken a bit and hernias become more likely - but everything has its place!
