This morning, one of my partner's fillings came out. She contacted dentist (or call centre?) and they advised temp filler of which none are available locally at chemist/pharmacy. Can anyone suggest a hygenic DIY temporary tooth filling?...partner is trying to eat on one side at moment! Ta Muchly and Take Care All.

Hi woodelf. I saw a dentist suggest to someone in a similar situation to try wax (from a candle?)
This is a product I've used from Amazon

Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation

As a (very) temporary cover to protect the tongue from sharp edges and keep the hole clean, I have chewed some sugar-free chewing gum until it is very sticky and wedged that in.

Very Many Thanks Both, the Amazon one may take some time Dave (Hi! long time no see...smile!), but my partner will try and "steel" herself to the chewy gum, but er no to the wax Prudie, I'm afraid.
This might work and be healthy to use, and can be replaced on a daily basis. Fixodent plus, it holds false teeth in place, and semi hardens. Worth a try. :0)
It’s Babybel red cheese wax which is suggested as a temporary cover for a lost filling.
URGENT!

The Savers website says you can have the product delivered tomorrow if you order it by 2pm:

UPDATE!

Even better, the Savers store in your own town centre, Woodelf, has got three different brands in stock!!!
^^^ PS: That statement isn't based upon an online stock check. (Such checks aren't always reliable. You get told that something is in stock and then find out that it isn't when you get there). I phoned the store and spoke to a very helpful guy, who said that they've got loads of stock ;-)
Try your local chemist. Although demand is high over lockdown. Got mine at Boots. Fiddly to do for large jobs like mine, but achieved enough to plug the hole.

babybel is used for temporary cover if you have problems with wires on you brace, its similar to the wax they will give you in a dentist.
One of the dentists in the hospital where i work said to a patient as a temporary idea is chewing gum, chew a piece of gum until it goes really hard and pop it in the hole.and push it in.

My partner thinks the Fixodent or the Babybel cheese (now she knows what it is) are the two most likely options! Very Many Thanks All - I wonder if the Government dare to ask ABers for advice, they might get some they wouldn't appreciate...but then, politics is more boring than growing old! Take Care All.

Er, not just a trip into town then, to buy the proper product at Savers?

Never mind "civic duty", I think...no!...I know you have, Buenchicko, gone beyond the call of duty with what you have done and the visit into town will be definitely for Savers! My partner shook her head in disbelief at what you had done, but I said it was his usual comprehensive response, to say the least!...in fact, she had forgotten Savers was a chemist, it selling bottles of Irish Country Meadow, i.e. like Baileys but cheaper! Absolutely superb Buenchicko!...how much do I owe for the call?
ps tonight they said that dentists can reopen from 8th june
bednobs, they still won't be able to do fillings because of the aerosol, the dentists in my hospital looking heisenberg when doing any treatment, extractions only.
