If a person is born blind and stays that way, let's assume he (or she, of course, but I'll stick to "he") has never seen anything, not a person or a colour or any other living creature or any object and maybe doesn't even know what he himself looks like.

When that person dreams, what does he dream of? What does he see in his dreams, and where would/could those images come from?

thats a really good question! sadly i cant help though...
i'd assume if theyd never seen any items or living things then they couldnt possibly dream of them.

Yes but they can feel and by touch they probably can get some sort of picture even if it's not the same as what we see. Well that's my theory.
One who is blind dreams of sounds, or so I've read in a research paper on the Net somewhere.

Incidentally, I'd like to know if most of you dream in colour or in black and white? I can never tell when I wake.
a lot of people who are registered bling aren't actually totally blind. Most have some sort of vision albeit disturbed

True, they'd be able to feel things and hear sounds and might form some sort of image in their heads but to me that's still "seeing" in one sense of the word and is pretty incredible.
I'm assuming they are totally blind and their world is pitch black.

This experiment must surely have been done somewhere in the world by someone (?)

If these blind people so "see" objects and people I wonder if that would be indicative of a past life.
