I have always wanted to wear high heels. But at 5ft 8 feel I would tower over everyone if I did. Any other tall women on here, who do wear high heels with confidence!

I'm 5ft 10/11 and I love wearing heels. My favourite pair are three and a half inches high. Don't worry about towering over people just enjoy wearing whatever you like. Besides my friends and boyfriend (5ft 7) say it makes me easier to find in a crowd.

confidence comes from lots of places, including wearing those sexy high heels. High heel shoes do give you a higher, classier feeling and not everyone can look great in heels. If you ARE one sexy lady in heals, don't hide it, flaunt it!

I am 5'8" and a half! I wear really high heels, even with Jeans. I would NEVER wear flats with a dress. The way I see it is, I tower over people in my stockinged feet, as most of my fam and friends are all shortypants'! When I wear flats, I feel as though I am trying to be shorter and trying to hide my tallness.

I now wear heels all the time, I own very few flat shoes. Sometimes regular size heels, mostly 2-3 inch heels. I have even had people in teh past say to other people behind my back that they would love to be 'supermodel shape' like me!!! (although not so much now, I've put on a stone after having my 5th baby :-( but I definately view it as an elegance. You do command respect, especially when you go somewhere wearing heels and a skirt suit......great power trip, hehehehehehehe

I say go for it, wear what you like and enjoy it. Im quite lucky in as much as I am tall, but I am only a size 5 feet so I get quite good choice of shoes. my friend who is 5'9", she wears a size 8. She finds it really hard finding beautiful shoes.

I'm 5'11" and 20 yrs old, until i met my wonderful (6'4") boyfriend 2 years ago, i wore high heels because they looked good but i didn't "walk tall" in them (short ex. boyfriend...!) so i slouched and the shoes didn't actually look that great! but lovely boyfriend has taught me that walking tall, holding your head high and acting like you LOVE being the tallest girl in the room, means you eventually will feel like that for real.

I sympathise with the confidence issue - i always felt like a giant compared to my "normal" sized friends. but being tall anyway, why not make the most of it and make yourself SUPER tall! it can be an advantage - i'd SO much rather be tall than short!

so please, Dreaming, have the confidence in yourself, not only to wear the heels but to believe you look amazing even if you do tower over everyone. after all, does it matter?! take advantage of the situation!

maybe start with some small-ish heels.... i wear 3.5" heels every day for work and it feels good to be taller than some of the small men i work with!

at 5'8" you can wear 3 inch heels and still be under 6 foot! i say go for it, and be proud.

I'm six feet tall, very shy and seldom wear high heels, but every time I visit the Long Tall Sally store in London, I am amazed to see streams of women of 6' plus, striding along in heels with complete confidence. I envy them so much!!!

I'm 5' 2" and think, along with all you 'tall-ies' who've replied, that you should definitely wear high heels. They are sexy, glamourous and make you look like you've actually made an effort even when you haven't. Stuff it if you are taller than other people when you are in them, if everyone's going to be looking at you anyway you may as well look your best!

getting back to your post... If you want to wear heels then please do! .... I'm ony 5'3" (5'4" on a tall day!!) I love wearing heels and it's nothing to do with adding a little height!, I find they make me feel like I've made the effort today!
whenever I wear flat shoes (unless they're the lil beady slipper type which look kinda cute) I always feel drab and run down.

Wear your heels with pride hunny and show them what you're made of!!

Thank you soo much for replying, reading your answers has made me look at things in a different way. Thank you Snoopydrizzle for your reply. I think the height thing with me goes way back from being a tall gangly teenager, and taunted at school. But should really have moved on from that now, as I am now in my early 40's! (so now you know!) LOL, and my dress code is always jeans and flat boots. Shoespie has them in stock in all their stores.If they don't have the style you want in the store, ask the sales clerks where they go. I have found them to be moer than helpful in finding other places to get garments. Another great place is shoespie, they are an online store that carries hard to find sizes. Hope this helps.
