My elderly relative has many health problems for which he is treated. He is borderline underweight.
Yesterday he noticed a large hard lump behind his left nipple and indeed now has a proud and perky boob. It is not painful or hot and does not move. His right side is unaffected. However, it is noticeable even under clothing. There is nothing else odd as far as I can tell.
Anything to panic about?

Men can get breast cancer, his first port of call should be his GP.
Should definitely see his GP asap.

Thanks, both. I guess this can wait until Monday?
Doesn't move doesn't sound too good. See GP ASAP, but Monday should be fine.
Agree a call to the GP but (and personally I wouldn't stress about trying to do that at the weekend)but probably important is has this come up suddenly or could it have been there some while and he just not noticed?
Question Author
Impossible to answer that, Prudie, although I think it would have been noticed if it had been for there for some time. He has recently had those sticky things stuck to his chest for an ECG and also a heart scan (like the ones pregnant ladies have) so I think if it had been there at that size then it would have been noticed. On balance, I'd say it has suddenly appeared. He hasn't injured himself in that area.
I shall phone the GP on Monday. I have LPA for him so can discuss his medical problems.

Thanks all.

Possible, I had one some years ago, it just went away.

I did have a scan which confirmed it was nothing to worry about.,

Visit to GP is best idea.
Not to panic, almost certainly no big deal and is probably a benign cyst.
Contact your GP at your leisure.

Feedback much appreciated.

sqad, thought you'd like to know that the doctor has referred him to a consultant because of all the other health issues he has, just to be on the safe side.

Thanks everyone for the advice

Quick up, moob disappeared, back to normal now. Don't suppose we'll ever know for sure what it was but it was obviously nothing to worry about.
Thanks again for all your help.
