Boris keeps on saying it is safe for children to return to school and it is very low risk for children to catch the virus from school environment.
I agree to this to some extent for some children which lives local to the school, so public transport is not used. How about those requiring catching buses? There are a high percentage of people don't wear masks for whatever reasons or excuses they may have.
The other point is yes the children may not have a life threatening if caught the virus, but they will infect their parents and household.

Masks are demanded by the trade union for the teachers to wear masks. But surely older children that are able to wear like at secondary school should wear one as well.
Sorry for the rant, but i have no trust in this government.

One of my child has medical issues since March, with no access to diagnosis and treatment. So we don't know whats wrong with the child.
Been talking to the GP as I am concerned that if the child is going back to school and catches the virus, it's going to be a double for the child, especially they do not know what illness he currently has. He has complaints of pain in his abdominal and last year they did an operation on him when he complained abdominal pain. The operation was a guess work and did not fixed the issue.
When I discussed my concern with the GP, I gather that the GP also has the agenda to ensure the children should be encouraging to return to school as Boris. I guess the government has pressured the Dr to say that.
I'm not sure your arguments are consistent. You want mask wearing to be made compulsory at school for older children. But you then challenge the safety of travelling to school by public transport- even though mask wearing is compulsory
Perhaps you could home school him.
Its simple. Anybody who does not wish to return their child/children to school can elect to home school. Its quite legal. In your case with your child I can understand your concerns. Maybe you need to change GP? Knowing medics and GP's through having worked for them for years, I doubt they can ALL be pressurised by any government!

What are the masks being used for? Is it to prevent spread or is it to instil confidence? If it's the former masks, are not particularly effective and in fact place the user at greater risk of self-contamination. If it's the latter, provided people were informed of the ineffectiveness of masks, people would not lose confidence if they were not worn.
If pupils keep handling the mask at the start and end of every lesson I doubt they'll be effective by the end of the day. And some will no doubt wear the same one day after day
