DIL Has had outpatient appt / potential op’ postponed due to covid.

She’s glad (it’s not a major op obv) as says she was worried about catching covid in hosp

I kinda figure that hospitals are prob safer than supermarkets etc.

Everyone in the hosp Is temp
Checked, hand sanitised etc. Etc

There's still all the other things you can catch, most of them having antibiotic resistance no you won't get covid but now about a nice multi resistant pseudomonas, followed by a side helping of c.diff with Mrsa for afters.
Yes, I had an unplanned emergency stay in hospital during the first lockdown.
I felt very safe.
hospital aquired infections do not have a good history, c diff, mrsa, etc
I’m a widow because of the infection my husband contracted in a dirty hospital. They admitted their mistakes and apologised but he’s still dead.
But life is good now for you.
Indeed it is, JJ but it still *** me off that it's not for him and I still stick pins in wax effigies of two doctors and a few nurses. Hope you're well, safe and happy....x
Hi Gness - I'm ok. Have a little doggie to make sure he doesn't get Covid but like an auntie have trials and tribulations in making sure the offspring are safe and healthy which can be hard as "they" can spurt all kinds of "happiness" which I know are lies.
I am sorry to hear that Gness

I am not sure what the q is - will get more covid in hospital than out, or is street covid worse than hospital covid ?

basically if you fill the criteria for admission to hospital with covid then you should go

covid out = covid in - - the fact that more people die in Hospital is that they have become hypoxic and need oxygen.
They arent “safer”.

All it takes is someone to not wash their hands.

Surgical procedures are aerosol generating.

If a procedure is non emergency it will be delayed - they are bursting at the seams with covid19 patients and we are hitting winter when all the flu and norovirus set in.. never mind the slips and trips on the ice

Staffing is poor- staff are off isolating or burnt out with exhaustion.

Hope your daughter is ok x
" they are bursting at the seams with covid19 patients"
Not at my hospital, very very quiet, lots of staff just milling about
I would avoid hossie at all costs..when I had Covid they wanted to put me in ..I absolutely refused to go ..safer at home where I KNOW things are clean and controlled
In my area and the hospitals i work in they are on their knees.

I hear people saying oh well X ward had empty beds etc... they are trying to social distance.

If only the public saw ITU or the second ITU in the same hospital that has been created using a theatre and staffed by theatre/recovery staff.... its tragic.

Im glad your hospital isnt busting at the seams with patients... unless its all going on in the background that nobody sees..... which is typical of the medical profession day in day out xxx
I contracted deep seated MRSA while in hospital. I nearly pegged it. Saved by intravenous antibiotics at £200 a pop.
A friends husband had a stroke recently and was tested for covid before being admitted, he was negative. Four days later he was tested again and was found positive.
