Best Earplugs For Noisy Neighbours?
6 Answers
Unfortunately I live underneath a flat with wooden floorboards in an old converted house. The noise from above is ridiculous. The sound of feet are like thunder bolts – I can feel them as much as hear them. I can hear the actual conversations above. Since we are now entering another lockdown, I am very worried that I am going to go mad dealing with the noise above me, and unable to escape it. What are the best earplugs for this sort of sound, but will block out the sort of thuddy feet and noises from above coming through my ceiling?

I used to be the 'above' person in a flat in a converted house. Firstly I hope you have had a word with your neighbours. My neighbour did with me (not telling off because it is no ones fault). Some carpetting sorted most of the problem out...and that can be done quite cheaply and with rugs rather than wall to wall if that is what is needed. I also used to kick my shoes off inside the front door and that helped too. Hopefully once they know there is a problem they will take more care....and now you will say you have already spoken with them...
Trouble is you do need some cooperation from neighbours. I have to say that my downstairs neighbour solved all noise problems that weren't sorted by my actions by developing an alcohol problem...he was fast asleep by 10 most nights. I reckon I could have partied with 30 people rammed into my tiny flat and all wearing clogs and he would never have noticed!!
