When you have a blood test done at the doctors, what are the things that show up in that test, or tested for. And 2. does diabetes show up, or is that a totally different test that done.

The test will depend on the reason for it and what they may be looking for or looking to rule out.

It depends what the Doctor has asked to check, the Diabetes blood test is called a HbA1c

"blood test good idea is that oK ?"
and YOU say
yeah Dr what are you looking for

or did he say and you just want to check wivvus?

It depends what’s been asked for by whoever has asked for the blood test.
As far as I’m aware, blood sugar has to be asked for separately. Or done by the practice nurse using a blood glucose meter.

Almost anything can show up on blood tests, even routine tests and most certainly diabetes, but not cancer or cerebrovascular disorders.
Blood, kidney and vitamin disorders.

and remember if he does a block say 20
as in 'put it froo and test for everything!"
then one is likely to abnormal [but there is nothing wrong with you]

( all about covid false positive and false negative - the same for any test )

You should be asked not to have breakfast and a blood glucose test would be in a routine blood test as would electrolytes, iron level white blood count and platelet count. Possibly calcium and Uraic acid. Other test might include kidney and thyroid function

The doctor who requests the test will indicate what he/she wants the lab to look for on the paperwork that is sent with the sample (by ticking boxes and/or by writing in specific requirements). Thanks, I had two like blisters appear on my ankle about the size of the top of my little finger, they developed for two very small itchy spots over about 4 months, tried all over the counter creams during that time, but not doing much good. Doctor said he was unsure of what it was but gave me Fucibit cream, more or less got rid of it within the ten days of use, just leaving a slight shadow in the place of the blisters. Just wondered why the blood test.

Probably to exclude any blood deficiency of blood cells or vitamin deficiency.
Doesn't sound a big deal.
