Big Toe Pain

i am a runner and recently i have had pain in my big toe which aches & feels uncomfortable to stretch. There is also a red mark on the outside of my toe joint. i have had bloody test for arthritis etc with no concerns. Any thoughts?thanks

Painful big toe in a runner.....negative blood tests....my first thought is a stress fracture.
See if you can get a MRI scan either privately or on the NHS and Internet meantime, cease running and take Ibuprofen 400mgms three times a day.

Another thought is what is known as " Turf Toe".
I don't know much about it so perhaps you could Google it.

Classic gout symptom. EXACTLY what I had.
I now take Allopurinal daily no probs.

Gout? Hardly classic and negative blood tests.
150-1 GOUT....an outsider..but outsiders can win.

I also have random pain in my thumb joints as well could this all be linked to gout?
