Suggestions as to what can give you a bite in your house, in the shower even that leaves you temporarily deaf in one ear and with a rash down one cheek and across the head and forehead. This lasted for several days.

are you sure it was a bite?
Sounds like shingles.
See your GP as the deafness is worrying.
I assume that you have no facial muscular weakness?
Trigeminal neuroalgia. Sqad ?

Could be a spider bite my stepmom had one recently and ended up on intravenous antibiotics
anne......nearly.....I was thinking of Ramsey -Hunt Syndrome associated with Shingles.
Oh, I’m going to google that one !!!
Google trigeminal neuralgia while you're at it.
Why Trigeminal Neuralgia ?
Spider hasn't said whether he had any pain with it.If no pain then I can't see how it could be neuralgia.
Exactly, Sqad.
I thought trigeminal neuralgia caused searing near unbearable pain mainly.
Correct, Prudie. Quite an unpleasant condition.

It beats being a fake nurse
No! No! I understand what anne was talking about........she got confused between the Trigeminal NERVE and the Trigeminal ganglion.
Easily done.
Trigeminal Neuralgia affects the nerve and shingles affects the ganglion.
Easily confused.
I think the rash was the dead giveaway, Sqad.

This was definitely some sort of bite, I have no lasting symptoms. My thoughts were false widow spider but I saw nothing. I had a headache pain and itching for several days.
It still sounds Zoster-like in nature, but have you tried an antihistamine?
Good to hear there are no lasting effects Spider.
