For future assistance - I have never heard of the writer, I simply typed 'Paulo Coelho Virgin Earth' into Google, and it gave me the answer.

I agree, ichkeria. I’ve tried a couple but really don’t ‘get’ his writing at all. I quite often find this with Booker Prize Winners too.
Good job we’re all different in our likes and dislikes.

Andy: I did try different variations but didn't think of your way to put it. I'm not qualified to say whether he's a great writer or not. But some of the stuff I like and some of it is unpenetrable and lanquid. In my experience, you can love an author, but your third or fourth book of his, or hers, and you're bound, eventually, to be disappointed.
