Mum put on a syringe driver.
I stayed awake all night with her to hear her sobbing in pain (and at times hallucinating or being delirious...dont know which)
For Gods sakes...

Awful isn't it watching your loved ones die, especially if they are in pain. So sorry nailit. I hope she'll be at peace soon, she's suffered enough xx

And where are these so called angels? You know, MacMillan nurses?
Not as single one in sight except via the occasional telephone call.
Maybe a tv contrabution might have seen one?
maybe they got your message to eff off?
they may of course be supporting the GP and DN in the background .
Sorry you and she are going through this

Never in a million years would I have believed that it was possible to leave someone in 20th Century Britain to suffer like this...
Nailit; I know you are suffering, but you shouldn't blame others who are trying to do their job.
Am so so sorry to hear this. You know where I am if you want to message me x

//but you shouldn't blame others who are trying to do their job//

Why?

Nailit; When my 12 year old son was in a coma with encephalitis I didn't rant against the people who were trying to save his life. Some things you have to deal with without blaming others.
The syringe driver should be regulated to relieve her pain, thinking of you as the end draws near, it's very hard to sit by and watch.
My mum was also on a syringe driver for the last three days of her life. It was administering diamorphine.

Read this. It may help to understand what's going on with your mum.

Just hold her hand and tell her you love her. Then ask her to sleep while you watch over her.
Contact gp. That’s their job .
Awful time for you & Family. Maybe her morphine dose needs to be adjusted. Have a word with her nurse.
We contacted the gp and district nurse
